Design a Simple Flower Embellishment in Silhouette Studio
Whilst I was testing for this weeks freebie (Scheduled to post on 23/06/2016) I thought I’d share with you something I found.
Using the replicate tool to design a simple flower embellishment in Silhouette Studio.
There may be an easier method, which i’m not aware of, but it’s nice to share and that’s what I’m doing.
Open Silhouette Studio, using the ellipsis tool draw a circle and an oval shape;
Open the Replicate tool, highlighted in blue in the below image;
Select the oval shape and select ‘Rotate 5 Copies’.
Now you could select all the ovals and weld and you would still have a flower, however, you can make a less uniform flower by following the next few steps.
Select the cluster of ovals and duplicate them.
Arrange the ovals (AKA Petals) around the circle, I was left with one petal remaining. (The circle was just there to act as a reference guide)
Once you are happy with the positioning of the petals select all and weld.
Next, draw a circle to fit in the middle of the flower, this can be as big or as little as you want. Position the circle in the middle of the flower, select the flower and circle, right click and select ‘Make Compound Path’
This is the final flower, as you can see the petals are less uniform, which I think gives it a more natural look. (Although, I have nothing against uniform looking flowers…honest!)
Thank you so much for reading, I really hope this post has helped you with designing in Silhouette Studio. Feel free to share your creations with me on Pinterest,Facebook or Instagram, I’d love to see.
Happy Crafting,
Vicky
